What You'll Do:

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) manages all phases of the DMS employee lifecycle and ensures the smooth and effective daily operation of the human resources function. This position also oversees the reception, office management and travel administration functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages recruitment and selection and staffing, new employee onboarding and orientation, performance management; compensation and salary administration; employee rewards and recognition; separations; training and development, employee relations, EEO, DEI, wage & hour, work authorization, and other legal compliance requirements for all states where DMS employees reside.
  • Provides HR support and guidance to all leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Acquires and maintains a working knowledge of DMS services and processes to communicate effectively with managers and supervisors throughout the company.
  • Manages HR business processes and controls while maintaining and implementing a solid understanding of HR best practices; makes recommendations regarding new or existing HR practices.
  • Assists in the development and management of the HR department budget.
  • Oversees office management and administrative duties, including office and conference room maintenance and supplies and corporate travel.
  • Oversees the creation and maintenance of employee communication and HR compliance tools, including company bulletin boards, lunchroom slides, and kiosks.
  • Manages HR recordkeeping systems and reviews employee changes in status to ensure fair and equitable application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Handles employee relations issues and ensures treatment of all employees is respectful, professional and in line with DMS culture and engagement objectives.
  • Oversees the employment, training, performance evaluation, and counseling of direct reports.
  • Acts as a legal corporate representative as requested and/or necessary.
  • Creates position job descriptions and helps develop the compensation structure.
  • Works with the Senior Training Specialist to help identify development opportunities for DMS talent and tracks progress on development action plans.
  • Develops and maintains strong internal communications to promote morale and achieve DMS goals.

What You Need To Have:

  • Experience in HR Generalist or related role that provides sufficient knowledge, background, and experience to successfully perform the duties of this position
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR, or similar HR Management certification preferred but not required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship management skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with other professionals to gather and disseminate information
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel) and HRIS
  • Composure under pressure, a professional demeanor, and high regard for confidentiality
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Self-motivation, resourcefulness, creativity, high integrity, positivity, and proactivity

The Fine Print:

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Typical office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm Pacific Time. This is an on-site position.
