Direct Connection Advertising & Marketing is a boutique, full-service, integrated advertising and marketing agency. We specialize in Property and Casualty wholesale Insurance brokerages and other insurance entities.
We are seeking an Art Director / Senior Graphic Designer accustomed to working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment for a busy team. Must be self-motivated, energetic, extremely detail-oriented, positive, and possess strong writing skills. Position will be full-time from our office in Fairfield, California.
Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field, or equivalent graphic design experience
5-7 years’ experience in a creative leadership role
High-level understanding of print layout, including page layout and typography, equal parts technical skill and design sensibility
Highly organized while being able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Simultaneously handle multiple projects with total accuracy and attention to detail
Actively and positively collaborate with a small team to maintain design integrity and ensure adherence to both brand and deliverable requirements
Develop and adapt creative assets (ads, banner ads, email layouts, flyer designs, trade show materials, etc.) to maintain clients’ brand cohesiveness and broaden brand message
On a daily basis, adhere to ever-changing deadlines and prioritize tasks while consistently delivering accurate revision rounds and final files
Ability to advise team on and manage workflow to ensure a realistic, steady responsiveness to clients’ needs while not overwhelming production staff
Excellent communication skills and the ability to write clearly and professionally with little oversight
Skilled and efficient in the use of Adobe CS Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for Mac; Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; project management and collaboration tools like Slack, Dropbox, Wunderlist, Jira, Todoist
Ability to take direction and learn skills and processes as needed; working knowledge of HTML helpful but not required
Experience in insurance marketing or similar corporate environment
Ability to craft brand messaging and taglines
Sharp eye for editorial inconsistencies, ability to review others’ work and make constructive revisions and suggestions
Conscientious attitude toward creative projects, ability to apply industry and design knowledge to benefit clients and the team while meeting or exceeding deliverable goals
Demonstrated experience in managing a small team of production-level designers in a high-volume setting
