Laboratory Assistant III primarily performs laboratory specimen processing, specimen sendouts and/or Microbiology specimen processing (including AFB processing). Performs clerical and phlebotomy functions (including pediatric and nursery), as described in the Laboratory Assistant I and II job descriptions, as assigned. Two years of college in biological sciences preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience in performing laboratory specimen processing, specimen send-out protocol, and/or microbiology specimen processing/plating (including AFB processing) required. Current: Certificate of Phlebotomy. (Future: Must qualify for and receive Calif. Dept of Health Services, CPT-1 Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certificate
