The Process Improvement Specialist is a hands-on, results-driven individual, responsible for building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement in an Agile software development environment. The Process Improvement Specialist will work to prioritize and drive performance improvements that will significantly affect business results and deliver operational excellence to our customers by challenging the status quo, coaching, and embedding a mindset of continuous improvement to achieve performance excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical documentation including processes, procedures and workflows in a clear and concise manner and working with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and alignment with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) 2.0 and industry best practices.

 

You are someone who:

  • Demonstrates a strong command and understanding of CMMI for Development 1.3 or higher
  • Understands the why behind processes and procedures in order to drive process improvement solutions and process and product quality assurance
  • Connects processes and procedures to CMMI requirements to ensure compliance
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on preparing clear and concise communication
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Recognizes and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Has familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools, including Teams and TFS
  • Knows Agile Scrum methodology
  • Understands the Software Development Lifecycle

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with management and project teams to align with CMMI Level 3 requirements
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the DIFZ Agile Scrum Framework process, procedures and requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for intended audience
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Lead and coach project teams on corporate best practices
  • Maintain information asset library with approved artifacts
  • Develop Annual Process Improvement Action Plans
  • Maintain, review and update Process Asset Library (PAL)
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational processes and procedures
  • Conduct process compliance audits, evaluate process effectiveness, and develop corrective actions
  • Manage updates and revisions to documentation by working with various stakeholders
  • Create presentations and reports on quality activities and initiatives
  • Support the organization in maintaining CMMI 2.0 and ISO 27000 certifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years’ experience in process management, quality, audit, and/or compliance
  • 4+ years of relevant experience applying knowledge of frameworks such as CMMI and ISO
  • Experience working with and implementing CMMI compliant processes and procedures
  • Proficient in the design and maintenance of high quality process documentation
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with TFS
  • Experience working with and understanding of CMMI 2.0 for Development
  • Knowledge of ISO 27000
  • Experience participating as part of a CMMI SCAMPI appraisal
  • Experience working with or serving on organizational software engineering process groups
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • CMMI Associate designation a plus
