Job Description

Starting Pay $29.00

The Recruiting Specialist works under the supervision of the Recruiting Manager to source and attract top talent that builds and maintains a skilled workforce with the goal of securing stable employment for people with significant disabilities. The objective is to have qualified employees fill positions. The responsibilities require the recruiter to network with industry contacts, and partner with local businesses to organize and attend recruiting events. This position will handle sensitive employee and company information and represent Didlake to the public, which requires that they maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Responsible for effectively implementing the recruiting plan that results in qualified hires.
  • Provides direct knowledge of assigned regions to support the development of effective plans.
  • Perform continuous recruiting at all times to ensure a constant pipeline of candidates in all departments to support growth.
  • Partners with local businesses and organizations (government job placement agencies, churches, non-profits, and shopping centers, businesses, etc.) to host recruiting events and interview sessions.
  • Effectively works with hiring managers to assist them through the hiring process to include: working in the recruiting tool, selecting proper disposition codes, scheduling interviews, and hiring events.
  • Partner with appropriate management to determine position requirements, job specifications, and ensure that qualifications are accurately reflected and sourced.
  • Work closely with Hiring Managers to schedule and follow up on candidate selection to maximize the efficiency of the recruiting process.
  • Contact applicants to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, selection, and assisting individuals with disabilities with the application and hiring process.
  • Markets Didlake employment services to prospective candidates and current employees.
  • Communicates with management to provide status updates on search results.
  • Ability to multi-task by balancing team and individual responsibilities; quality performance and models dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance.
  • Assists with general administrative tasks and participating in projects as needed.
  • Performs clerical duties that include filing, photocopying, faxing, and preparation of routine correspondence, written and electronic.
  • Generates accurate and timely reports, and identifies discrepancies with existing or missing SOPs, and other documents required by the Human Resource Department as well as by the Didlake Departments for implementation of Didlake services, programs, and policies.
  • Assists with research and development of new HR initiatives and programs.
  • Provides authorized information from the employee personnel records as requested for wages and employment verifications to finance companies, social security administration, housing authority services, social services agencies, etc.

  • High School Diploma, plus five 3 years of Recruiting experience; Bachelors Degree plus 6 months of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelors Degree and 6 months.

Skills and Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of related experience required, prior recruiting and staffing experience preferred.
  • Ability to frequently travel to hiring, recruiting events, and worksites throughout the DMV.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly.
  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple candidates, searches, and projects concurrently.
  • Team player with the ability to champion the recruiting process.
  • Ability to work independently while forming strong relationships within the community.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals with disabilities, diversified cultures, and diversified socioeconomic groups.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-up skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting, as well as independently, set goals, prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to effectively read and interpret information and documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (knowledge of Excel is required).
