**The Medical Laboratory Technologist,** under the direction of the laboratory director and under the supervision of the general supervisor, processes specimens, performs test procedures, make preliminary interpretations, maintains equipment, perform quality control and troubleshooting.
**This Medical Laboratory Technologist will work 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) or** **3rd shift (10:30pm - 7:00am). The position has a great compensation package and liberal on call pay.**
+ Receive and process specimens according to protocols
+ Properly perform HLA tests according to procedure
+ Produce, interpret and report accurate and precise test results
+ Perform procedures related to deceased donor workups including updating UNOS / UNET
+ Communicate issues to supervisor or other appropriate individual.
+ Perform instrument maintenance and method troubleshooting.
+ Assists in documentation and maintaining effective department QA programs and monitors.
+ Must hold a valid Tennessee Laboratory License as a Medical Technologist (MT or MLS).
+ ASCP certification or eligible
+ Maintains appropriate continuing education for certification and licensure
+ After 1.5-2 years employment, pass Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) exam administered by ABHI (American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics)
