This position is for Developmental Specialist under our Dewdrops Developmental Program.
The purpose of this position is to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities to provide one-on-one services to assist them to develop daily living skills, such as safety, social skills, communication, hygiene, gross and fine motor skills, etc.. This position requires expertise in child development, developmental disabilities, assessment, and community resources. Experience working with families in home and clinic settings is essential, and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder is a plus! The developmental specialist works with families with children birth to age 5, as well as older children, teens, and adults who have developmental needs. Services are provided in homes, schools, and in a clinic setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include: assist clients with developmental disabilities to strive for and achieve their individualized treatment goals related to developmental milestones, attend child and family team meetings, assist parents and guardians in understanding the child or adult's developmental needs and in learning how to best assist their family member, participate in weekly supervision.
Qualifications: Candidates must be 21 with current fingerprint clearance card, CPR, and first aid.
