### Summary

**About the Position:**
Camp Lejeune is located in southeastern North Carolina near the City
of Jacksonville. Camp Lejeune and the City of Jacksonville are
adjacent to the New River flowing to the Onslow Beach area. Camp
Lejeune occupies about 153,439 acres with 14 miles of beach on the
Atlantic Ocean.

### Responsibilities

- Manage files, records, create reports and correspondence for the
school administrators/staff.
- Retrieve data such as various statistical reports for the work
- Prepare correspondence in final form such as; forms, voice
recordings and reports for the office.
- Maintain office automation equipment and software such as; word
processing, databases, and spreadsheets for the office and/or
administrative staff.
- Establish rules and procedures in support of school
administrator and/ or administration staff.
- Maintain clerical duties to relive the Principal/Assistant
- Maintain time and attendance records for the students and staff.
- Prepare travel arrangements and maintain office calendar(s) for
the school administrators and/or staff.
- Receive visitors to direct them in the proper direction in
support of the school staff.
- Receive and answer phone calls directing inquires in the
appropriate direction for the office/staff.
- Respond to questions and inquiries via phone, email, in person
etc. for the administrators.
- Communicate with students, staff, and parents on various matters
in support of school administrators and/or office staff.
- Order and replenish supplies for the office and/or school staff.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience
requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid
experience, including volunteer work done through National Service
programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations
(e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community;
student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying
experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly
describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education,
your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

**General Experience:** One year of general experience. General
experience is progressively responsible for clerical, office, or
other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular
knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to
be filled, such as; Use of automated system(s); Maintain personnel
files; and manage supplies.


Education:** Two years of education above high school level obtained
in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior
college, college or university.


**Combination of Education and Experience**: A combination of
education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as
long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least
100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your
total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of
by 60. Add the two percentages.

**Selective Placement Factor:** This position requires a qualified
typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5
minute sample with three or fewer errors.

position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the
geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the
localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to
travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held
expectations of the local community
