Public Relations Marketing Strategist II

Job Summary
This position is being offered as Part- Time (.06) 24 hours per week. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for managing external communications on behalf of Denver Health that communicate the mission and business goals of the institution to external audiences as well as public relations, media relations and crisis communication responsibilities. The position-holder plays an integral part in the marketing and communication department when it comes to creating and executing marketing, communications and media relations strategies. The role also promotes Denver Health's (DH) brand, key messages and initiatives through various paid, earned and owned media. Central to the role is the ability to formulate strategies and tactics, compile information, and use sound judgment to make decisions that both promote and protect the reputation of DH. The role requires the individual to exercise individual judgment in providing expert advice on communications to senior level managers that will ultimately contribute to the financial success of the organization. The position-holder acts as a team player and take on other marketing, communications and media duties as assigned by the communications director.
Minimum Qualifications
Education 1. Bachelor's degree required. Concentration in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred. 2. Master's degree preferred. Experience 1. Six years' experience in healthcare marketing and/or news media relations and communications programs required. 2. Experience in journalism preferred. 3. Experience in implementing media strategy and objectives required. 4. Experience working with the media and how to meet the needs of its representatives required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Proven writing skills. 2. Good judgment/ability to work cooperatively in an integrated team environment. 3. Service-oriented working style, excellent organizational abilities, and strong interpersonal skills. 4. Self-starter who works with limited supervision and guidance. 5. Demonstrates an understanding of and support for diversity within the workplace. 6. Completes own work efficiently and accurately and then assists co-workers with theirs. 7. Demonstrated skills in providing excellent customer service. 8. Uses time productively coordinating with others to achieve common goals and objectives.
