Our landscaping division is individually operated with a team of certified horticulturists, arborists, and irrigation specialists working to ensure high-quality services to our clients. The Landscaping Division Manager with DCPS will be a very dynamic leader who is able to build a larger, more independent Landscaping Maintenance Division. In this position the Division Manager will be working with different associations in the commercial landscape realm and at the same time work on growing this division. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and integrity as well as positively promoting company culture and safety.

Position requires hands-on landscaping experience with a proven track record of managing multiple crews, and service or product lines, as well as comprehensive financial statement/accounting knowledge along with direct P&L responsibility.   

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 to 15 years of Landscape Maintenance experience
  • Experience in management, finance, budgeting, routing, fleet management, training, onboarding, sales, and crew management.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of landscaping, including mowing, pruning, chemicals, annuals, tree and plant health, irrigation, and enhancements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Horticultural education or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in plant identification for plant materials grown in the Colorado climate
  • Ability to work with others with respect and open communication
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Bidding and estimating experience preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Holds responsibility for: departmental employee relations, hiring, training, motivation, performance, development and termination of departmental staff.
  • Responsibility for departmental budget development and management; corresponding expense management.
  • Provides leadership and a positive working environment that fosters teamwork, communication, ethical behavior, cleanliness and a “can do” attitude.
  • Schedules, enforces policies and service standards, evaluates daily work projects and safe work practices.
  • Interacts with Executive Team to establish and effectively address short-and long-term goals.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as requested.
  • Develops ongoing training programs.
  • Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining professional and courteous service to exceed guest satisfaction.
  • Conducts staff meetings, dissemination of information, addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Maintains a clear understanding of and implements all Agronomy standards in addition to ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory standards/laws and addresses environmental concerns.
  • Ensures departmental staff obtain proper training and/or licenses needed to perform job tasks safely meeting all city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains ongoing awareness of all agronomic activity and provides constant feedback and direction to key staff members.
  • Off-season snow responsibilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
