Job Summary

As an Accounting Manager, you will be accountable for a wide range of critical financial and accounting functions, ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of the company's financial processes. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the company's financial success through effective management of various responsibilities.

  • Creation of Financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Develop and implement relevant and actionable Financial KPIs to measure the company's financial performance. These indicators will provide valuable insights into financial health and facilitate data-driven decision-making to support the company's overall financial strategy.
  • Inventory Management: Implement and maintain effective inventory management practices, ensuring adequate stock levels, minimizing carrying costs, and optimizing inventory turnover. Your management of inventory will play a vital role in supporting seamless business operations.
  • Vendor Relationships: Establish and nurture strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Supervision of the Purchasing Department: Oversee the purchasing department to ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, coordination with vendors, and adherence to procurement policies and budgetary constraints.
  • Assist with Project Costing: Collaborate with project managers and teams to analyze project costs, monitor expenditures, and ensure accurate cost allocation. This will help optimize project budgets and contribute to overall profitability.
  • Revenue Recognition: Assist in the proper recognition of revenue in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This includes reviewing contracts and ensuring revenue recognition aligns with the completion of performance obligations.
  • Financial Support to VP of Operations and Owner: Provide accurate and timely financial support to the VP of Operations and the company's Owner. Assist them in making informed financial decisions, analyzing financial data, and strategizing for the company's growth and success.
  • Management of Company Employee Credit Cards: Effectively manage the issuance and usage of company employee credit cards. This includes adherence to company policies, tracking expenses, and reconciling credit card statements to ensure accurate record-keeping and expense reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and dissemination of accurate and timely financial reports, both internally and externally. This involves generating monthly financial statements, annual audits, and budgets to provide crucial insights into the company's financial health.
  • Accounting Management: Supervise the accounting department to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of various accounting activities. This includes overseeing accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, cash control, and payroll tax compliance to maintain efficient financial operations.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage the accounts receivable department to effectively handle all components of accounts receivable aging, billings, cash receipts application, and quarter and year-end payroll closing. You will also be responsible for handling debt collection from customers.
  • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external CPA services to ensure accurate and timely completion of all sales tax returns, adhering to tax regulations for multiple states.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of financial data, processes, and systems. Implementing effective controls will enhance the company's value and protect against potential risks.
  • Special Projects and Reports: Participate in a variety of special projects and compile specialized reports as required by management or for specific financial analyses.

 

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • In this role, your exceptional financial management skills, technical proficiency, ethical conduct, and outstanding communication abilities will be paramount in driving the company's financial success and strategic decision-making. Your ability to handle diverse responsibilities, including providing financial support to the VP of Operations and Owner, will contribute significantly to the company's overall financial performance.
  • Outstanding customer service and team relationship skills, collaborative work ethic, ability to prioritize decisions for short and long-term project objectives.
  • Financial management, technical capacity, ethical conduct, and communication proficiency. the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and Acumatica is preferred.
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, dependability, credibility, and commitment to the company’s core values. Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities.
  • Must be willing to go above and beyond to ensure tasks are timely, accurate and complete.
  • The Accounting Manager will operate in a clerical office setting. This position uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this largely sedentary role, the employee is also required to stand, look down/up, bend, twist, hear, walk, use hands to finger, and reach with hands and arms.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 5-10 years of relevant experience
