We offer free training for Maritime deckhand positions for vessels on the Delaware River, Atlantic Ports, and beyond. This is where the jobs will be located.
Deckhands are the entry-level positions on Tug boats and other vessels, Entry-level positions secure lines, stand watch, clean vessel, assist in cargo handling, help ensure a safe vessel at all times.
We assist in the candidate's obtaining TWIC(Transportation Worker Identity Card) port entry cards. We assist with the United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credentials and Basic Safety Training (including Fire Training) licenses issued by the Coast Guard.
Interested candidates progress at their own pace.
Once the candidate is qualified for employment we assist in searching for positions, resume writing and interview skills, etc.
Currently operating via a TRAIN Grant from the Delaware Department of Labor (DDOL), DME is seeking to establish training programs for those seeking employment in both the Port and in Maritime Shipping positions.
