About the role

The Accounting Manager provides support to the Controller and is a critical part of the Company's accounting department. The Accounting Manager works with peers from across the organization on a daily basis. Duties include overseeing the general ledger, daily processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable transactions, and collections, which must be performed accurately and efficiently.

You're excited about this opportunity because you'll:

  • Oversees the production of periodic financial statements; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) or financial reporting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable, vendor maintenance, and filing of year-end 1099 reports.
  • Manage billing and collections, ensuring timely billing and collection of customer dues and setup of reasonable DOS standards.
  • Manage payroll cycles, ensuring timely state and local registration and filing of state income taxes and payroll taxes.
  • Assist Controller with stock compensation management and reporting.
  • Reconcile financial statement accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government tax and filing requirements.
  • Manages accounting staff who is responsible for handling day-to-day activities concerning accounts payable, billing, collections, and payroll.
  • Manage and develop accounting staff and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Other applicable duties and responsibilities.

  • Strong knowledge in U.S. GAAP, experience in ASC 606 desirable.
  • Experience working for a SaaS start-up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A sense of ownership/responsibility and ability to work across the aisles with team members from various departments.
  • Strong desire to make process improvements and create positive impacts on peers.
  • Attention to details and being flexible.
  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software, experience in system conversion/migration desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Experience with software applications such as Quickbooks, SFDC is valued. Comfortable with learning to use various software applications.
  • Desire to work with a team of fun and dedicated professionals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Four years or more of related experience required.
  • A combination of public accounting and private industry experience is required.
For bonus points:
  • Experience in international accounting.
  • Experience with a Big Four accounting firm or a renowned national accounting firm
