Davis Wire, Kent is a manufacturing mill located off 80th Ave S in Kent, WA specializing in a producing a wide range of wire products.
We have a 24-hour operation working over three shifts with voluntary shift selection whenever possible. This facility is part of Teamsters Local Union and membership in the union is required. Currently operating 12 days on, 2 days off (mandatory overtime every other weekend). We offer full benefit options for yourself and your family after eligibility period including medical, dental, vision, health or dependent savings account options, employee assistance program (mental health benefits), basic and voluntary life and ad&d coverage, pension, 401k, paid holidays, sick time after 90 days and vacation time after one year. Weekly pay starts between $16-$18 depending on area.

Requirements The Position Overall Responsibilities and Work Environment:
This position is responsible for following basic procedures to set up, adjust, and operate assigned machines and auxiliary equipment to produce wire and wire products. The environment is a mill/production warehouse located off 80th Ave S in Kent, WA.
1st shift – 7:00am-3:30pm
2nd shift – 3:00pm-11:30pm
3rd shift – 11:00pm-7:30am
Read, understand and follow production schedule.
Interpret and follow basic written instructions, drawings, and documents.
Perform setups on assigned machine(s).
Detect and report faulty processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain proper quality specifications.
Maintains standard housekeeping standards.
Observes all safety rules including reporting of all industrial accidents and any unsafe conditions.
Communicate with and follow verbal instruction from foremen, management, and co-workers in a team environment.
Maintain machines, time requirements and quality standards on a consistent basis.
Ability to keep reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime every other weekend - 12 days on 2 days off - Monday through Sunday one week and Monday through Friday following week, repeating.
- Must be able to lift/carry at least 75 pounds and push/pull at least 100 pounds safely
- Must be able to pass a drug screen for federal standards (no marijuana)
- Must be able to become certified and operate a forklift safely
- Must have reliable transportation and attendance
- Union shop – membership and monthly union dues are required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Perform basic to complex machine operation and production processes.
Safely use various tools and precision equipment with necessary fine and gross motor function.
Read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions, as well as drawings, and documents in English.
Perform physical work, including lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds, reaching, grasping, etc.
Stand and walk constantly, with frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
Work in an indoor un-heated/cooled warehouse environment and wear all required personal protective equipment.
Ability to understand and follow all policies, procedures, and processes established for the working environment.
Education and Background:
Must possess ability to read, write and understand instructions in English language, verbal and written.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Any previous experience considered, retail, food, or just graduated from high school.
Preference on experience in a manufacturing environment, mill environment, outdoor labor, or other relevant experience as production worker.
