Job Description

The Role

Davignon Martin Architecture + Interior Design is searching for a Registered Architect interested in designing, coordinating and managing projects. We are looking for people with strong conceptual design skills and advanced coordination skills to enhance our team and realize inspiring architecture.

You will be asked to participate as a Design / Project Architect on an interesting and extensive range of projects inclusive of high end hospitality, commercial tower re-purposing and multi-family residential typologies to name a few. You will be brought into each project from the onset and will carry the projects through construction reviews and administration. You will manage team members and will be responsible to direct the progress of staff against project ideas, fees and deadlines. You will be working using different programs including REVIT and CAD on medium to large scale projects with teams of people who reside in both Calgary and Toronto. 

Responsibilities
     • Delivery of inspirational conceptual designs that align to the project goals and client vision.
     • Preparation of models and presentations for client meetings and meetings with relevant authorities.
     • Presence at client meeting and meetings with relevant authorities.
     • Adhering to schedules and guidelines set out by Project Architect on larger projects.
     • Performing the roll of Project Architect on multiple projects. This includes:
           - coordination with the sub-consultants;
           - building and following your own project schedules.
     • Understanding and adhering to project goals set out by the client.
     • Design development with technical knowledge of products, construction methodologies & sustainability.
     • Code Reviews, Bylaw reviews and administration with Authorities.
     • Peer reviews of production level drawings. 
     • Participate in Construction Administration.

     • Ability to manage multiple projects;
     • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
     • Strong design talent;
     • Creative and analytical;
     • A team player, someone who enjoys collaborating, learning from colleagues, and sharing their own expertise.

Qualifications:
     • Master’s Degree in Architecture from a Canadian accredited institution or equivalent.
     • Professional Registration through the AAA
     • Proficient in Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign;
     • Proficient in CAD and REVIT;
     • You will require a high aptitude in learning management software such as BQECore.

Skills:
     • Proficient in Sketch-up, V-Ray, Photoshop, InDesign;
     • Proficient in CAD and REVIT;
     • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

The ability to interact positively with clients, consultants, contractors and your internal team is required. You must have a strong desire and commitment to contribute to the quality of the work that this studio will produce. An entrepreneurial nature is welcome.
