The Special Education Coordinator is a key administrative position at Dartmoor School. As such, Dartmoor is looking for a dynamic, experienced educator who will:
Put students first in the educational process
Liaise effectively with area school districts on Non-Public Agency (NPA) enrollment
Design innovative and responsive programs for diverse learners
Support administrative and instructional staff as they meet the needs of diverse learners
Manage and grow an already strong program
The ideal candidate will have:
An educational philosophy that puts students first
A strong academic background including a current endorsement (required) and advanced degree in Education (preferred)
Experience teaching in a private or public school Special Education setting (administrative experience preferred)
Fluency in Special Education best practices, legislation, and documentation
This leadership opportunity is part-time with a minimum of 25 hours; however, a full-time, exempt position will be considered. Dartmoor School is open Monday - Thursday with occasional Friday meetings. The Coordinator also will need to be available from time-to-time for IEP meetings and events that occur outside of the routine schedule.
