Accounts Receivable Specialist

Under the direction and supervision of the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Specialist prepares and records accounting transactions related to multiple accounting functions and maintains corresponding subledgers. This position routinely interacts with both internal and external customers, as needed, in the fulfillment of its responsibilities. Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Completes daily business-to-business collection calls on designated customers.

  • Monitor customer accounts on a daily basis in order to address and escalate potential issues.

  • Ensure accurate coding and processing of invoices for on-time payment.

  • Analyze and solve invoicing and interface errors.

  • Address customer inquiries and requests with accuracy and urgency.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve customer disputes; act as a liaison between the customer and the sales team.

  • Reconcile RMA invoices and credits issues for returned and/or failed product from customers.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions in relation to anticipated payments, disputes, rebills, adjustments, etc.

  • Build relationships while communicating professionally with internal and external customers whether by phone, email or postal correspondence.

  • Assist with daily application of incoming cash received as Wire, ACH and check.

  • Assist with reporting daily cash expectations.

  • Complete other duties and miscellaneous projects as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Accounts Receivable collections is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle R12 is a huge plus
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Deadline-oriented with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication and team skills mandatory.

The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell.

The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, salt water, extreme temperatures and work space restrictions.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
