SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of employees in a cost effective, efficient and safe manner to achieve departmental and business goals. Performance is measured by the ability to meet deadlines, maintain standards of performance and establish a work environment conducive to high levels of engagement, productivity and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product by participating in continuous improvement activities.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals and performance standards.

Maintains time and production records.

Follows safety regulations and enforces compliance with company safety rules and regulations. Assists employees with obtaining the correct PPE.

Conducts employee meetings [includes: Employee concerns, safety, quality, efficiency of department, etc.]

Consults with other managers to coordinate activities of plant personnel.

Collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels within the organization to achieve company objectives.

Communicates and enforces company policies and adheres to all state, federal and company safety regulations and practices. Acts as a role model for all employees.

Maintains good employee relations. Takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required, with the support of Human Resources.

Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel. Responsible for collecting data for and reporting on monthly measurable goals.

Utilizes and practices methods for continuous improvement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages department employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees in their area of responsibility. Promotes strong communication skills by speaking and listening to the suggestions and concerns of the group.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Two-year college or university program certificate in business, and/or four years related experience and/or training.

SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Computer literate with ability to use document, spreadsheet, and other applications currently used.
