POSITION SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for implementing DAHFHs strategic vision and goals, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and employees. These goals and vision should be articulately communicated to ensure the mission of, placing deserving families in affordable homes, is achieved in a professional and responsible manner. The CEO is ultimately responsible for the hiring and management of the entire organization while working through the senior leadership team. The CEO must also integrate the work of Board committees, staff and volunteers in a coherent, consistent, and effective effort in, construction, financing, and family support, resulting in successful home ownership for partner families. The CEO provides strong and energetic leadership for the day-to-day activities and long-term initiatives of DAHFH and commits DAHFH resources with the utmost integrity so as to maximize community impact consistent with the organizations goals and policies approved by the Board. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Vision: In conjunction with Board, staff, and volunteers, update the organizations strategy and goals, developing actionable growth objectives, milestones, and timelines. Build consensus among stakeholders such as City of Dallas and appropriate community partners. In particular, lead efforts to explore, advocate for, and implement initiatives to finance and build affordable housing with volunteers supported through individual and corporate sponsors. Staff Leadership: Provide effective leadership to insure his/her direct reports are equipped and motivated to successfully discharge their responsibilities, consistent with the strategic goals and budget guidelines set by the Board of Directors. Provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the development of the senior team. Work closely with HR Director to manage staff in adherence with sound human resources practices and guidelines as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws. Successfully recruit and train employees to build, motivate, and retain high-performing teams. Work with the senior team members to identify professional development needs of staff and seek avenues to support those needs. Effectively develop and maintain staff accountability for meeting metrics and building capacity to take on new challenges. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors to make certain that DEI is embedded into the organizations strategy and prioritize initiatives alongside other business KPIs and objectives. Create and champion policies and structures that help to support an inclusive working environment. Work to role-model purposeful, authentic, and inclusive leadership to ensure diversity across the organization. Encourage inclusive working environments that provide diverse talent that provide diverse talent with resources needed to be successful. Coach and mentor leaders regarding DEI initiatives and objectives. Operational Management: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team; Oversee plans for, and achievement of, operational goals for such objectives as land acquisition, family selection and support (training, counseling, and similar), construction, mortgage sales, volunteer management, and retail operations. Financial Management: Direct and be accountable for the Organizations finances. Establish, oversee and manage budgets and expenditures in accordance with the yearly strategic plan and financial plan. Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Chief Financial Officer, and key staff to plan for and provide realistic and achievable annual budgets that meet strategic and programmatic objectives. Ensure that timely and accurate financial reporting and program outcomes are readily provided to the Board of Directors, key staff members regarding their department and strategic financial institutions as requested. Development: Partner with the Executive Vice President, External Affairs to oversee design and execution of coordinated fundraising strategies that encompass home construction and sponsorships. This effort should also incorporate individual philanthropic support, foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Store Management: Establish and monitor the accomplishment of Restore goals in the areas of material procurement, efficiency, profitability, and customer experience. The CEO should also set long-term goals for enhancing the retail enterprise resulting in improved profitability to support our mission efforts. Communications: The CEO is the principal spokesperson for DAHFH, and must proactively reinforce and articulate our mission internally and externally with all constituents (homeowners, volunteers, community groups, donors, government agencies, other Habitat affiliates, HFHI, etc.) Build and maintain transparent communications with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee members. Community Relations: Develop close working relationships with key local institutions and individuals including the City of Dallas and important community organizations. Explore partnership initiatives that are consistent with DAHfHs mission, vision, and values, while leveraging the Organizations presence and reputation. Volunteer Relations: Recognize and publicly acknowledge the essential role played by volunteers in DAHfHs operations. Support and originate recruitment initiatives that strengthen and grow the volunteer base. Ensure that training is meaningful and appropriate, that the volunteer experience is a favorable one, and that volunteer loyalty to the Organization remains strong. Board Development: Manage Board of Directors relationships to effectively fulfill the BODs governance and fiduciary responsibilities, foster BOD involvement in DAHfHs programs and initiatives, and attract new Board members who bring even greater capabilities to the service of the Organization. Ensure that the BOD is diverse, including women, minorities, and diverse points of view; engaging in creative efforts to build the board candidate pipeline; and eliminating bias from the ideal director profile. Create an inclusive boardroom environment that fully harnesses the benefits of a diverse board and encouraging all board members to contribute and constructively challenge assumptions and perspectives. Maintain a transparent relationship with the Board of Directors regarding all aspects of the operation while alerting the BOD on a timely basis regarding any issues, opportunities, or challenges.Habitat International Relations: Maintain effective working channels with Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), ensuring that DAHfH is employing best practices, meets affiliate obligations, and takes full advantage of HFHI resources and support. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED (MINIMUM)Self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate. Ability and dedication to learn new skills quickly, exhibit flexibility while serving as an effective team leader and team player. Proven track record of effective team management and results-driven leadership of a senior team. Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting. Leadership skills, including the ability to handle both internal and external conflicts. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (MINIMUM)Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or relevant degree 8-10 years of corporate or nonprofit management experience Preferred: Masters Degree in Business Administration or relevant degree Language Skills: Ability to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate. Ability to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Ability to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.
