Job Description Summary Responsible for receiving, accessioning, and handling forensic samples, as well as, transcribing forensic case notes for DNA-Analysts. This is a safety sensitive position as defined by state and federal laws that will require working with hazardous materials and/or handling medicine. As a "safety sensitive" classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana. Essential Functions Accessioning Evidence Samples Administrative Case Review Transcribing Forensic Case Notes Generate FedEx labels and prepare evidence return shipments General office duties Closing and filing cases Adherence to all DNAS safety standards, policies, procedures, and protocols Competencies Like working with people. Good listening skills. Ability to learn company services and information systems quickly. Detail oriented. Communication Proficiency. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. Attendance at the office is required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, label makers and fax machines. Physical Demands This position will require consecutive hours standing and receiving evidence.
Some filing is involved, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Travel No overnight travel is anticipated for this position. Some occasional local day travel may be necessary. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma Experience with corresponding with clients both orally and in writing Experience with data entry Preferred Education and Experience Bilingual English and Spanish Prior Experience in customer service Experience with receiving and processing samples Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel AAP/EEO Statement DNA Solutions, Inc.
