Position Overview:

DMSI is seeking to add an Outside Sales team member, with experience in the communications industry. Ideal candidate will have an active customer base to immediately introduce the DMSI brand. Candidates preferred sales background will be structured cabling, switching and media conversion, or commercial data center industry. The Outside Sales team member will be responsible for overall sales success of our product line of Fiber Optic Connectivity Products ranging from Fiber Optic Hardware and Enclosures to Connectivity Solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

-Find opportunities, create demand, and develop relationships with companies that use fiber connectivity products through cold calling, emailing, networking and other prospecting methods

-Become technically knowledgeable of DMSI’s product offering and value proposition

-Provide excellent customer service

-Travel as needed for sales meetings, trade shows and product demonstrations and training

-Address technical and application related inquires

-Meet or exceed sales budgets assigned

-Initiate and develop relationships with key technical and economic decision makers

-Develop list of new target accounts and sales development plan

-Work with suppliers and support staff to resolve customer issues in a timely manner

Qualifications/Skills:

-Ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience in the field

-Technical knowledge of optics and electronics

-Must be highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-Must be a team player that works well with the sales, production and operations team

-Must be organized and efficient and have the ability to adapt to ever changing conditions in the sales cycle

-Must have confidence and drive in developing new customer business through cold calling and business development

-Must be thorough, organized, and have great attention to detail

-Proficient in the use of personal computer with an emphasis on Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word for Windows

-Results oriented

-Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision from company office or from a home-based office

-Aptitude to grasp technical concepts quickly

Education:

Associates degree (preference given to BA or BS)

Salary:

$75,000.00 to $100,000.00/year plus commission
