Job Description

Boutique Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm in downtown Park Ridge (right by the Metra station!) is seeking to hire an experienced, professional Estate Planning Legal Assistant / Administrative Assistant. Our firm focuses in estate planning, trusts, probate, guaradianship and elder law. (This is an IN OFFICE position - it is NOT remote).

IDEAL candidate should have at least three (3+) years of Illinois Estate Planning Legal Assistant experience to be considered for this position. We will consider Legal Assistants from other practice areas (must have significant 7 + years experience in other IL law practice areas though).

This position will support 2 Partner/Owners of the law firm. Will work closely with a small team of 2 other Legal Assistants, handling legal-administrative duties as a team.

Duties and responsibilities will include: intake of new clients, file organization/opening, preparing estate planning binders, scanning/copying, client phone calls, drafting legal correspondence, sending letters to Medicaid/Medicare, mail sorting, taking messages, phone system administration, e-filing, ordering office supplies, bank runs, and other administrative duties.

Experience with legal software Clio makes you a more marketable candidate so let us know if you know how to use Clio!

This is litigation firm so you should be experienced in dealing with the unforeseen-yet-expected "day to day problems" that arise in the legal world!

This is a full-time position working in the office. Some limited hybrid work may be permitted after a trial period where we get to know you and trust your work.

Candidate must have very strong interpersonal skills to work with professional attorneys, staff members, opposing counsel and dealing with outside vendors & clients.
