Some responsibilities of the EVP of Tech: The EVP, Tech is responsible for leading the development and strategic roadmap for the Edelman New York's Tech offering.
This includes securing, maintaining and growing business as well as providing strategic client counsel, leading an internal team, and providing mentoring and guidance to junior staff. The scale of responsibilities will include, but is not limited to, the following: Providing senior most counsel, serving as part of a trusted circle of advisors, and engaging at the CCO and C-Suite level Leading and mobilizing the internal team while building and shaping a growing practice Model collegial behavior and teamwork both in the marketplace as well as throughout the Edelman network Understanding of and genuine commitment to the continuous improvement of the practice of communications marketing and how we go to market in a distinctive fashion while ensuring our clients the best in class service Oversee client service function for program planning, problem solving and strategic counsel Financial responsibility for accounts including forecasting and account profitability Counsel team to develop media relations strategy for programs/projects Understand key client industry issues relating to products, product categories, technologies, primary and potential competition and general issues facing the industry Understand key competitors and their business strategies Actively develop team and provide coaching and feedback Identify new growth opportunities based on insights into the company, client, industry and economy Grow business prospects with existing clients; expand scope of work using Edelman network capabilities; lead new business outreach process and win business Participate in the development and adoption of new products/services; leverage IP with clients Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman's values and Code of Ethics and Business ConductBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: The EVP, Tech must have at least 12 years of relevant experience in public relations and marketing, and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidates bring the following skills and qualities to the table: A bachelor's degree in a related field A proven track record of developing and executing profitable public relations and communications marketing campaigns that meet client objectives Highly effective leadership skills including in-depth experience managing a group A passion and ability to attract, motivate, empower, coach and retain staff A dynamic leadership style including a proven ability to "hold a room", influence and sell, as well as unite employees and clients around an idea or issue Ideally, a combination of experience in both agency and corporate settings including a strong track record of growth - organic and pure new business A broad understanding of all facets of communications marketing Superb understanding and involvement in the region's business and/or government community with proven strong and positive relationships A spirit of innovation and willingness to define the undefined and be motivated by the mutual success of their clients and their career
