DFM Development Services is an established consulting firm based out of Falls Church, VA that caters to the real estate development industry. We provide a variety of Development Support Services (red tape related items) to local and national real estate developers, corporations, and other real estate owners on projects throughout the Metro DC area.
Due to recent growth, our client focused firm is seeking to hire a full-time, Environmental Compliance Inspector/Technician to join our staff. The selected individual will be responsible for reviewing site development plans, performing field reviews inspections, and regulatory analysis supporting stormwater and wastewater compliance. The individual will regularly review and conduct monitoring studies, and assist with planning, developing, and designing stormwater, wastewater, and other environmental compliance and improvement projects for our clients.

- Support the Environmental Compliance Team planning, developing, and implementing stormwater, wastewater, and other environmental compliance projects for various clients, as needed.
- Conduct stormwater management facility installation and post-construction inspections and related office tasks to support projects. Grow to manage tasks and projects.
- Support wastewater monitoring and other regulatory compliance activities (field & office); grow to manage tasks.
- Support other Environmental Compliance Group work as assigned.
- Maintain effective working relationships with Environmental Compliance Director and other department team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Science, Environmental Policy or related field
- 1-4 years of proven Construction/Land Development/Stormwater or related environmental compliance experience (entry level candidates to be considered if applicant had internship in stormwater or related industry)
- RLD Certification or willingness to obtain it promptly is required
- DEQ Certification is a plus
- Familiarity with surface water and stormwater management
- Must be able to read/interpret plans or be willing to learn
- Valid Driver's License
- Physical ability to comfortably walk around active client sites in an efficient manner
- Proficient using a Windows Operations System and Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat)

- Walk around active client sites, stooping, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, sitting for an extended period of time
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces after receiving proper training and certification
- Enter, access, and inspect underground stormwater structures (i.e. manholes) following appropriate training and certification
