Restaurant Technology Support Specialist

Restaurant Technology Specialist - Experience preferred but not required.

Summary:

Provide technical assistance, service, support and installation of POS systems to a variety of restaurant concepts. Duties including but not limited to installation of POS systems, support via phone, email, and remote control access, troubleshooting both hardware and software issues, and conducting training for end users. Entry level job with potential for growth.

Education and/or Experience :

• Restaurant System Experience

• Retail System Experience

and/or

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configuration and troubleshooting of networking equipment including but not limited to routers, switches, and modems.

• Assist customers in troubleshooting networking, Windows OS, and iOS issues over the phone.

• Create menus and databases using company offered software products according to customer specifications.

• Conduct POS software training classes for small groups of end users.

• Perform installation of POS systems: creation of local area networks, installation of terminals, printers, and associated POS peripheral devices.

• Some travel required.

• The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows, iOS operating systems.

  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

  • Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

  • Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients, and Web Browsers.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SQL/SQL Management Studio.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Assist in demonstrations and sales calls.

  • Restaurant experience is a plus.

TRAINING:

On the job training as well as training at DCR business partners locations will be provided. Those who excel at self-study and hands-on learning will progress quickly.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation is based on an hourly rate paid weekly with 40-55 hours per week typical. DCR offers a comprehensive package including health care, 401(k), paid holidays, paid vacation days and life insurance.
