DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a well-rounded, organized, enthusiastic and proactive Communications Specialist (Account Executive) to develop a wide variety of internal and external communications products on behalf of our federal client. You’ll join a team with an unmatched mission – to prevent Veteran suicide. In this role, you will work alongside project managers, senior writers, and graphic designers, to lead several high-priority content development initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong attention to detail, can develop and maintain a positive rapport with executive level clients and is looking for an opportunity to roll up their sleeves, learn and grow with the team.


This Communications Specialist will develop internal and external content to provide continual engagement with the client’s audiences based on their preferred messaging, channels, formats, and outreach, to support the client and increase awareness of and participation in its programs. This may include but is not limited to articles, social media posts, fact sheets, FAQs, PowerPoint presentations, and press releases. They will assist in the creation and development of meaningful campaigns that garner impact and awareness on suicide prevention efforts for Veterans and their loved ones.


Location: At DCG, many of our team members including this role are remote. With over 100 employees based in 20 states (and counting!). DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours. 


Position Requirements:


+ Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, creative writing or communications


+ A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience supporting internal communications campaigns, preferably with Federal, State or Local Government or a private sector company in the education or leadership development industry


+ Experience communicating with large and diverse audiences, preferably 300,000+ people


+ Demonstrated experience providing written thematic, copy editing and improvement feedback to team members on communications deliverables


+ Strong verbal and written communication skills


+ Experience developing internal communications such as articles, newsletters, email campaigns, fact sheets and flyers, etc.


+ Experience owning client deliverables from concept to completion and demonstrating strong writing skills for content generation


+ Proven to have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload


+ Possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn


+ Experience with copy and content editing


+ Proven ability to support and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven process


+ Proven experience creating your own writing themes and calls to action, developing writing processes, outlines and edits based on client feedback


+ Experience creating written communication materials and content on behalf of federal clients is a plus, but not required
