The IT Support Specialist is responsible for resolving customer reported issues relating to workstations, peripherals, on-premise and cloud hosted systems as well as perform software and hardware installations, configuration changes, workstation and server upgrades, routine maintenance, license tracking, and monitor customer networks. Must be able to perform in a highly dynamic environment autonomously or as a team to consistently provide best in class technical customer support to a wide variety of clients.

Ability to work on-site required. Position located in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, by company portal or email.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in SalesForce ticketing system.
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information on a daily basis.
  • Modify system configurations, utilities, software, and hardware settings for assigned service ticket devices and in some cases using change management.
  • Assist with the onboarding (new agreement engagement) of new users.
  • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software (internal pre-staging and onsite).
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
  • Participate in the after-hours “on-call” rotation schedule.
  • Document “unique to customer” or “systemic problem” resolution activities for future staff reference.
  • Engage in Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, and SQL installation, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Customer data backup services, response, troubleshooting, and validation of data. Microsoft Windows Server 2008 – 2016, Server Operations and Domain Support.
  • Microsoft Windows 7, 10 desktop OS and Microsoft Office suite configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Management and troubleshooting of customer systems via Kaseya remote management.
  • Able to uphold customer and internal SLA’s as well as QA metrics.
  • Experience in Router technologies – Cisco, Fortinet (big plus) and SonicWALL.

Required Education | Technical Skills | Certifications | Minimum Experience:

  • Requires 5+ years of expert experience in systems (hardware and software) support.
    • Hardware support – Servers, workstations, router, switch, wireless access points and printer/scanner troubleshooting
    • Software support – Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange (a plus), Windows 7-10, Mac OS X (big plus) & Outlook/Office 2010-2016 troubleshooting.
      • Microsoft Active Directory & Exchange management.
      • Experience in Virtual environments (big plus) – Microsoft & Citrix.
    • Networking support – Local Area Networks (LAN) & Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) troubleshooting.
      • Experience in Router technologies – Cisco, Fortinet (big plus) and SonicWALL.
      • Experience in Virtual Private Network (VPN) – client-side (server-side, a plus)
      • Physical Layer support – physical connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Requires a minimum Associate’s Degree.
  • Candidate must possess at least one Certification (CompTIA – A+, Net+, etc.)
  • 4 year technical degree (BS/BA) in Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Microsoft Certifications – MCP, MCSA (big plus)
