MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The NPI Electrical Engineer is responsible for acquiring a technical understanding of all Cytek Cytometer Systems. The NPI Electrical Engineer is required to develop the skills necessary to fault isolate electrical/firmware Cytek Cytometer Systems. The NPI Electrical Engineer will be required to assist Final Test with troubleshooting technical issues that occur during the System Final Test process, identify root cause, and assist with correcting the issue in support of successful completion of Final System Test.
The NPI Electrical Engineer will be assigned Engineering projects focused on improving the stability and performance of current Cytek Cytometer systems. The NPI Electrical Engineer should be able to assess design needs, create proposed specifications, identify sources for materials, obtain and evaluate engineering samples, and transfer changes to Production.
The NPI Electrical Engineer is responsible for evaluation of returned electronic, mechanical, and fluidic sub-systems/units, collecting data, and analyzing patterns to drive quality improvements into Cytek Cytometer systems and their Approved Suppliers. They will be asked to review relevant field data to identify any problem areas, research opportunities for improvement, model and characterize any identified options, and propose changes to the design.
The NPI Electrical Engineer will serve as a liaison between Operations, Design Engineering, and Field Engineering to influence the Reliability, Manufacturability and Serviceability of the product design.
The NPI Electrical Engineer will work with R&D in the definition, creation, and validation of PCB test fixtures for assigned products.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The NPI Electrical Engineer will review and provide input on Final Test Procedures and evaluate Final Test Results. The NPI Electrical Engineer will document any Non-Conforming Material for processing through Cytek’s Supplier Quality process. The NPI Electrical Engineer will provide input on Bills Of Materials for accuracy and completeness. The NPI Electrical Engineer will support any other activities as directed by their Management when necessary for business purposes.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Required. Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in a NPI Electrical Engineer role. Medical Device/Life Science Device experience preferred. Experience working with multi-sub-system equipment including electronic, optical, fluidic, and application software sub-systems is a plus.
Experience using the Windows OS, MSOffice Applications, Engineering Change Order Systems, Device History Records, and creation of Final Test Procedures, Reports, and Bills Of Materials. Ability to competently use hand tools, an oscilloscope, multi-meter, and microscope. Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics. Any other tools as necessary for system level test of equipment.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Experience with lab equipment including network/spectrum/vector/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Knowledge of general purpose processors’ architecture and hardware/software design tradeoffs. Familiar with communications links including USB, Ethernet, SPI, I2C HDLC, SDLC and high level protocol interfaces such as TCP/IP, PCI Express. Experience with digital hardware troubleshooting, board bring up, FPGA bring up. Knowledge of current FPGA technologies, having worked with major suppliers’ products such as Xilinx, Altera, , etc.
Working knowledge of VHDL or Verilog, logic implementation, and simulation tools for complex designs.
Individual will be required to lift 25lbs without harm, be able to work in a standing position for an hour at a time, and be able to position their body without additional support to obtain access to internal components of the system.
