Full-service Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering consulting firm based in Houston, Texas is seeking an Engineer to serve as a member of our mechanical design team and to assist the team in production of high quality contract documents for the firm’s clients.
• Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful design, creation and delivery of all mechanical AutoCad and Revit drawings for each client project
• Review specifications, shop drawings, addendums, and other construction documents as assigned for mechanical-related items
• Review field reports and participate in field inspections of mechanical-related items as assigned
• Conduct field work as necessary to verify design and/or as assigned by supervisor
• Participate in client meetings as necessary and/or as assigned by supervisor
• Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources Manager
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination
• (EIT) or (PE)
• Knowledge of and experience with AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of building codes
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of and experience with Revit
• Previous experience in an MEP consulting environment
• Previous experience designing MEP systems for schools
• Experience in the design of HVAC systems, central plants, heating systems, ventilation systems, temperature controls and indoor air quality, as well as other standard mechanical systems for commercial buildings
