What You Will Be Doing
(THIS POSITION REPORTS TO HEALDSBURG CALIFORNIA AND REQUIRES RELOCATION OR A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE, NO REMOTE WORK ALLOWED)

We are seeking a seasoned and talented Aerospace Quality Engineer to join our team in Healdsburg, CA!



The Principal Quality Engineer has the responsibility to protect product quality and ensure that all program contract and drawing requirements are met while performing highly complex Engineering duties.


QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Quality, or Technology

- Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Quality or Technology preferred

- 8 - 10 years applicable Quality Engineering experience

- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance

- ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, etc.) preferred

- Demonstrated experience with Quality Tools: RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action), FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control)

- Excellent leadership skills with an ability to operate in a multi-functional environment

- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization including external contacts such as
customers, suppliers, vendors, etc.

- Exceptional ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, as a self-starter, with minimal supervision or direction

- Thorough knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and AS9102 First Article Process

- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009

- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills to lead complex teams in root cause/corrective action investigations

- Intense focus on continuous improvement across all functions and disciplines

- Extensive experience with Nonconforming Material Control, Material Review Board, Change Control Board and corrective and preventive action processes in an aerospace environment

- Advanced understanding and application of SPC (Statistical Process Control)


- Proven experience in the bid, proposal, cost estimating and Basis of Estimate (BOE) processes

- Strong understanding of the TRL (Technical Readiness Level) and MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) from pre-EMD (Engineering Manufacturing and
Development) through FRP (Full Rate Production)



RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads quality operations for assigned program and provides technical direction for the Quality department as needed

Develops PQR (Program Quality Requirements) for assigned development and production programs based on TDP (Technical Data Package) and customer contractual requirements

Coordinates the disposition of nonconformances, root cause determination and completion of corrective and preventive actions

Leads the MRB (Material Review Board) and participates in CCB (Change Control Board) activities

Reviews manufacturing work instructions and identifies appropriate inspection points to mitigate quality risks and to demonstrate compliance to the TDP (Technical Data Package)

Provides quality support of acceptance, design verification and Electronic Stress Screening (ESS) testing

Prepares ADPs (Acceptance Data Packages) in support of deliverable hardware

Develops First Article Plans and coordinates execution of FAI plans through completion

Prepares and organizes data in support of supplier/customer deliverable requirements (SDRL's/CDRL's)

Utilizes program quality metrics and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, eliminate defects, reduce CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and improve overall product quality

Provides Quality Technician inspection guidance and mentoring

Coordinates with Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure all applicable technical and contractual requirements are included on supplier Purchase Orders

Coordinates the RMA (Return Material Authorization) process

Communicates with customers and suppliers on complex program quality issues

Supports Supplier Quality Engineering with source inspection, supplier selection/evaluation, First Article Inspections, failure analysis investigations, CAR (Corrective
Action Requests) and requisition approvals

Prepares inspection plans, test procedures, work instructions, waivers, deviations and other technical reports or documentation

Creates and revises QMS (Quality Management System) procedures

Coordinates and leads program and Site QMS Health and Process CABs (Corrective Action Boards)

Leads the QMS (Quality Management System) audit process, provides auditor training, coordinates any necessary corrective actions and reports status to senior management

Proficient in configuration management principles and is capable of authoring and approving change request documents

Collects data, performs analysis and utilizes SPC (Statistical Process Control) principles to evaluate processes continuous improvements and inspection optimization

Develops process control plans

Reviews Purchase and applies the appropriate quality requirements to ensure purchased hardware complies with engineering requirements

Generates Receiving Inspection Plans to verify hardware compliance to drawing requirements on procured hardware

Coordinates Hardware Acceptance Reviews in support of deliverable hardware

Supports Quality Manager on special projects as necessary

Leads the software evaluation, validation and qualification process for the Quality organization

Generates BOEs (Basis of Estimates) for the bid and proposal process

Primary quality interface for major customer reviews such as PDR (Preliminary Design Review), CDR (Critical Design Review), PPV (Production Process Validation), SAS (Supplier Assessment Surveys), PPR (Production Readiness Review), MRA (Manufacturing Readiness Assessment), PCA (Physical Configuration Audit) and FCA (Functional Configuration Audit)

Evaluates emerging technology for application and implementation in the quality environment

Provides leadership and guidance to Quality Engineers
