CyberData Technologies is looking to hire a System Administrator II to join our team with our Federal Client in Bethesda, MD.
+ Ensure all servers (including but not limited to Windows, SharePoint, cloud-based, database, web, Linux and SharePoint Servers) are patched each month.All critical, high, and moderate patches will be applied.The patches will first be applied to a development environment, and tested, then applied to production servers.
+ Maintain and monitor backups of all servers according to the defined requirements for backup retention and recoverability.
+ Attend all (max 2, 2 hours each) monthly Server Support and Web Team meetings and share with the team current efforts and status of ongoing projects.
+ Develop and employ automation techniques using existing COTS products and custom solutions such as scripting, to reduce overall effort and workload for items like regularly-scheduled patching, and other repetitive and trivial tasks.
+ Provide Linux expertise and assist with deploying, configuring, and securing Linux systems as needed.
+ Monitor all server and service logs daily, identify any issues, and plan any needed remediation.
+ Monitor overall system performance, by setting acceptable baselines and setting IPMonitor alerts for missed baselines.
+ Monitor for proper function of all SharePoint services such as indexing service, excel services, business connectivity services, etc.
+ Work with the appropriate team to schedule the deployment of new solutions, code, or other updates to functionality to servers and services.
+ Respond to any ServiceNow requests for server/service support and document any requests for support in ServiceNow if they did not originate there.
+ Provide documentation to be posted publicly to staff regarding backup policies, including backup retention, and clearly outlining what data can be recovered to serve as a Service Level Agreement to staff members and will clearly set limits and expectations for recovery of data.
+ Monitor all aspects of the database servers and databases to ensure that no performance, system error, corruption, or resource contention issues are occurring.
+ Remediate all vulnerabilities identified via automated vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and any other vulnerability assessment as directed by ISSO within time frames established in accordance with policies.
+ Configure all new servers and services such that they are secured appropriately and compliant. Work with Security Team to ensure that risk levels are appropriate during development and testing of new servers and services, and to ensure that all security requirements are met prior to deploying production servers or services.
Required Skills and Experience:
+ Bachelors degree form an accredited university desired.
+ Minimum 5 years of related experience.
+ Experience with the following technologies: Microsoft Azure, Hyper-V, Drupal 8, SQL, Power Apps, Flow, Sharepoint, NanoDrop, Splunk, LANDesk or Ivanti Endpoint Management, AV technician.
