Sr PCB CAD Designer
If you are a Sr PCB CAD Designer with experience, please read on! The Senior CAD (computer-aided design) Designer is in charge of board layout as well as electrical and mechanical modeling.
What You Will Be Doing
Board layout using Altium and Pads.
Generating release packages for PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) including 3D models and ICT (in-circuit test) test point definition.
Library creation and management. Includes definition and process ownership.
Approves first article certificates of conformance.
Improve workflow by conducting analysis, and recommending changes in policies and procedures to management.
Investigates failures of existing designs and by collecting and analyzing data, provides suggestions for failure mitigation and redesign.
Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality etc. Additionally, there are high value items that require proper care and protection.
What You Need for this Position
5-10+ years of board level design experience.
Experience in either Altium or Pads.
Experience in creating 3D models using Solidworks.
Must have experience with layout involving a mix of high speed digital, high voltage and high current.
Experience in reading schematics and understands the design well enough to create an optimal layout.
Experience working with mechanical engineers to create designs adhering to mechanical constraints.
Experience reading part specifications and determining footprint compatibility.
Experience defining layout rule definitions and aligning them to manufacturing capabilities.
Must understand the PCB fabrication and assembly process and the standards involved.
Working knowledge of PCB standards including; IPC 7351B, IPC-D-275, IPC-2221A, IPC-7351B, IPC-D-310, IPC-325, ANSI Y14.44, ANSI Y32.1, ANSI Y14.5.
Communicate technical ideas clearly, and use Microsoft Office applications when appropriate.
Experience in reading and writing technical requirement documentation.
Experience working with source-control system.
Must be an active CAD (layout) designer.
Able to collaborate with and review the work of ones peers.
Able to analyze competing designs and select the best option.
Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.


Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus an additional 5-10+ years related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
