Commercial Roofing Contractor in FL is seeking an experienced and reliable safety manager to join their team. This position will cover the state of Florida and multiple job-sites at any given time. We embrace safety as an important part of a job well done. We are an expert in every type of roofing, waterproofing, coating, green and metal system application.
We have an immediate opening for an Risk Engineer / Safety Manager that is self-motivated and highly organized to succeed in our growing Company. The Safety person is responsible to lead the safety efforts with integrity, conviction and courage under the direction of management. Responsibilities also include working with the Superintendents and Foreman while advising on provisions to minimize safety risks. Successful candidates will have a professional attitude and thrive in a fast-paced environment. If you are detail orientated, have a passion around safety, excellent administrative and organizational skills, you may be the perfect person to join our team!
-Act as a consultant and work with company employees, supervisors, company officers/owners to promote and develop safe work practices.
-Be thoroughly knowledgeable and up to date about all relevant regulations.
-Investigate all accidents and incidents and prepare root-cause analysis and prevent future incidents.
-Prepares appropriate reports and communicates safety results.
-Compile and submit accident reports required by the company and regulatory agencies.
-Work with insurance adjusters in resolving all open claims.
-Responsible for management of multiple locations, monitoring location safety activity, with a heavy emphasis on communication and training, including best practice sharing.
-Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
-Provide training, logs training with valid certificates for construction based roles not limited to fall protection, CPR, hazard communication, PPE, aerial boom/scissor lift, bloodborne pathogens, slips and trips and falls, ladder, scaffold awareness, scaffold competent person, proper lifting and forklift.
-Current OSHA 500 certification.
-Spanish and English fluency
-Ability to travel approx. 25% of the time
-Valid drivers license and clear driving record.
-Must possess clear and effective communication, interpersonal and organization skills
-Advanced knowledge of computer software such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint a plus, as well as web based safety program applications.
