The Process Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in process improvement and manufacturing scale up activities at our world-class manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for working with technical team members to continuously improve state-of-the-art thin-film coating and holographic patterning equipment, build prototypes, lead pilot studies to determine processing conditions, and implement those improvements into production. This individual will work alongside both Research Scientists, Engineers, and Production Operators. The ideal candidate will have experience in a ISO 9001 manufacturing environment. Experience
in the following areas will be beneficial but is not required: roll to roll processing, web handling, robotic operations, PLC programming, data analysis, project management, fixture design, equipment integration. The candidate should have experience in all of these aspects of the position, be able to work meticulously, creatively, independently and be prompt and responsive in delivery of work product.

" Design fixtures and other equipment features to improve existing processes.
" Build prototype processes to enable next generation products and improve existing ones.
" Work alongside experienced scientists and engineers to improved existing thin-film
coating tools and ancillary equipment that supports production and product development.
" Work with outside vendors and partners to facilitate equipment and prototype fabrication.
" Support continuous improvement activities through detailed data analysis and root cause
" Prioritizes safety at all times.
" Fixture and equipment design and implementation.
" Able to work in clean room for extended period.
" Proficient in AutoCAD or similar.
" Familiar with the use of 3D printing and other rapid prototype technologies.
" Hands on machine shop experience.
" Prior manufacturing experience; this may or may not include experience in the
semiconductor or optics/photonics industry, with robotic operations or web handling
Ability to work well under aggressive deadlines. Proven ability to effectively work as a member
of a team. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Must be
able to establish strong working relationships across the organization. Must be articulate and
capable of producing written work that concisely address the matters assigned.
Education & Experience
" At least Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
" At least 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or start-up.
" Project management skills, ability to create and follow a timeline
" Knowledgeable about statistics and data driven decision making.
