This position is for a Senior Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer including some supervision responsibility to support factory operations, factory layout, productivity, capacity planning, throughput, equipment development, material handling, and manufacturing utilization issues involving manufactured home factories.

" Analyze TAKT time/line balance, work content, process, data needs/flow using appropriate engineering tools not limited to VSM, PMAP, DMAIC, PDCA, Fishbone, and other manufacturing tools to describe the activities to improve the process, reduce waste, and reduce cycle time along with reducing scrap/rework.
" Develop overall factory layouts and equipment workstation layouts to match analysis.
" Develop workstation analysis and implement new workstations. Ability to interface with Production, Facilities Maintenance, and other Support Groups as deemed necessary to develop, implement, and maintain workstations. " Develops factory equipment quote response by defining product and preferred manufacturing process. Develops equipment and fixture designs with designers and suppliers. Coordinates this activity between IE/Mfg./Equip. Engineers and suppliers.
" Periodic workstation design/improvement due to installations/relocations while working with production and Facilities Maintenance to keep workstations, storage racks, and carts consistent with production needs
" Develop work description including Work Instruction (WI), process analysis, and implement new workstation improvements. Ability to interface with Production, Facilities Maintenance, and other Support Groups as deemed necessary to develop, implement, and maintain WI and factory processes as required.
" Create and analyze AutoCAD files and use Visio to formalize changes to scale drawings of 3-dimensional space and be able to visualize and accurate render scaled drawings.
" Implementation plans including the actual physical design/improvement of workstations, racks, and carts to support production areas.
" Manage the development and use of Material Handling associated with WIP such that the factory systems are working correctly and providing non-damaging transportation. Provide support for all factory systems for materials and scrap.
" Develop equipment and techniques that allow for the automation of process tools and develop tools that assist in the mechanization or automation of manual processes.
" Ability to effectively communicate and analyze data relating to bottleneck tools, cycle time constraints, WIP logistics, and capacity studies. Working with production, and supervisors/managers to identify bottlenecks while using engineering analysis to identify issues, providing verbal and documented reports to communicate with management using MS Office including Excel and other reporting tools.
" Evaluate improvement requests from Production Leads, Engineering Technicians, and Associates to implement productivity, cost savings, and efficiency of operation.
" AS/AAS, technical diploma, or equivalent technical studies. BS/BSET or College degree with an emphasis on math/science is a plus with operations research and plant layout emphasis.
" 5 years of total experience in a production role in multiple process areas and knowledge of process sequences and production flow can be with different companies.
" Understanding of heavy load handling and material control, flow dynamics, and general knowledge of manufacturing processes.
" An in-depth understanding of ergonomics and workplace issues associated with Muscular Skeletal Disorders (MSDs).
" Ability to apply math and engineering skills using all MS Office products (Excel) and the ability to learn quickly with OJT how to apply these tools to projects.
" Ability to create, analyze, and read from AutoCAD files, provide drawings/diagrams using Visio, and scaled drawings along with the general abilities to understand 3-dimensional space and distance. Should be able to use engineering drawing tools to make scaled diagrams and sketches.
" Computer skills -- the ability to learn details of multiple programs. Use of the full complement of Cavcos electronic office products including but not limited to MRP, Work Instructions (TBD), Travelers, Specifications, Service Requests, MS Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Access), AutoCAD, Visio, and other databases.
