What You Will Be Doing
The Business Development Manager will have a number of responsibilities including:

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with qualified accounts in the territory
- Achieve regional sales targets on a quarterly basis
- Provide fact-based presentations to a variety of customer personas, primarily scientists
- Offering outsourced research of biological specimens to CRO's
- Required business development and lead generation will of course include cold calling, emailing and effective follow up
- Create/implement strategies to target key accounts (i.e. promotions, tradeshows, attend seminars/presentations, etc.)
- Report to and communicate effectively with Regional Business Development Director
- Learn and maintain technical knowledge of company services and product portfolio
- Stay informed on current events/relevant publications related to our products/services and clients' needs
- Stay informed on our competitors and relevant market feedback
- Maintain/update company CRM database, documenting all relevant customer interactions
- Maintain/update business plan and pipeline forecast to manage sales goals
- Collaborate with BD management observing sales-team organizational structure
What You Need for this Position
Qualified candidates will possess as much of the following as possible:

- BS Degree, MS preferred (concentrations: microbiology/ biology, chemistry/biochemistry)
- At least 3 years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical/life science sales
- Ability up to travel/work from the road up to 75% of the time
- Ability to work from a home office
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Experience in pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry
- Experience in sales goal/metrics-oriented environment
- Previous experience hands-on laboratory experience is a plus
What's In It for You
Total compensation for this position will be in the $150,000-$175,000 ball park. Details:

- Base Salary: $90,000-$110,000
- Quarterly Bonuses: $14,000/qtr (standard for 100% attainment)
- Annual Car Allowance: $6,000
