Job Description

The Senior Director/Director, Sales Training is responsible for helping maximize the sales teams’ productivity and outcomes by providing onboarding, content, and ongoing training. This person will help analyze needs, design, and develop learning and development programs, and iterate on these programs on an on-going basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic planning, instructional design, facilitation, and program implementation. In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated success embracing and analyzing various types of training needs based on skill gaps and delivering and assessing the success of various learning programs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve as a key contributor to a results driven, successful and skilled sales organization.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Partnering with Sales Leadership to identify ongoing training needs for their respective teams and curate/develop content that supports our core values and aligns with our corporate goals
  • Develop, deliver, and continuously improve our Sales Training Programs as well as on-going learning opportunities for the company's new and existing sales professionals, in support of the organization's needs
  • Ability to create a reinforcement program focusing on opening the sale, moving through the funnel, and closing techniques
  • Enable Sales Executives to change behaviors and habits
  • Facilitate training related to our technology and total suite of product offerings in addition to professional selling skills, our sales process, and information about our clients and the industry
  • Present sales modules and overall sales training curriculum to new hire training classes and new sales hires throughout the year
  • Providing on-going or additional training to sales professionals struggling or at-risk with meeting their goals based on skill set and/or competency
  • Working cross-functionally with Product Marketing to support roll out of new product releases, and disseminate new messaging, packaging, and positioning
  • Regularly incorporate appropriate evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of training programs to regularly improve training content and curriculum
  • Maintains a high level of market intelligence, including new product training methods and competitive intelligence, training programs and best practices
  • Create a consistent ongoing education curriculum for sales reps
  • Manage the larger strategy of our Sales Training team

What You Need for this Position

  •  Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years in learning & development, sales training organizations, B2B sales strategy, or sales enablement experience
  • Software sales experience highly desired
  • Existing industry knowledge is a plus
  • Motivated self-starter who is intellectually curious, proactive, and action-oriented with experience consulting with several stakeholders
  • Proven experience in training quota carrying "hunter'' and "farmer" experienced sales executives
  • Experience designing and delivering learning programs to reflect knowledge and decimate information across an organization
  • Ability to be a strategic partner to leadership with strong executional skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the sales process-ability to comprehend and execute sales processes
  • Ability to teach, coach, and develop seasoned sales professionals in a complex sales organization
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution. communication, presentation, coordination, and influencing skills required
  • Previous experience working in a high growth technology industry
