Curry Community Health is looking to hire a Crisis Therapist to work in Curry County, located in a beautiful community on the Southern Oregon Coast. This is a full time position offering health benefits (medical, dental, vision), holiday pay, paid time off as well as life insurance and 403b.
The Crisis Therapist works as an integral part of the team which supplies 24-hour, 7 days per week, crisis resolution and prevention to individuals who have gone through traumatic and life-altering events such as mental and emotional health issues, loss of loved ones, sexual assault, domestic violence and suicidal or homicidal thoughts or intent. The Crisis Therapist provides direct intervention for individuals presenting with emergent needs.
Some Responsibilities include:
Assists with the coordination of 24-hour crisis service system for mental health clients.
Provides urgent/emergent intervention services by telephone or face to face during regular business hours.
Tracks 24-hour acute care utilization by monitoring hospital, crisis respite admissions, lengths of stay and discharges.
Performs pre-commitment investigations and examinations ensuring adherence to statutory guidelines.
Acts as liaison between the agency and contracted providers to ensure continuity of care for individuals needing increasing or decreasing levels of care.
Work Location: Office location in either Gold Beach or Brookings depending upon assigned area. Normal working hours/days are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding paid holidays. The Crisis Therapist is an “on-call” position and will be required to work beyond normal work hours as needed or directed.
Graduate from an accredited Masters Level program in counseling, social work, psychology or a related field. Designation as a QMHP in the state of Oregon. At least four years of progressively responsible experience in the mental health field including crisis intervention, team leadership and team building. Designation as a Pre-Commitment Investigator or able to obtain designation within 6 months of hire.
Has a strong set of crisis resolution and mental health emergency management skills as well as a diverse set of clinical skills including experience and proficiency in EBP’s. A thorough understanding of addictions theory and practice including the ability to diagnose addiction disorders and refer to treatment resources.
Must possess a current Oregon driver’s license, pass a pre-employment drug test, and pass a criminal background check required by the State of Oregon.
Pay Range: $63,000 to $74,000 annual salary
