Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Business Unit Operational Controller (BUOC) is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s internal financial reporting. The BUOC’s main duties include overseeing and managing all financial and accounting activities across a portfolio of several Culligan dealerships and locations.

Specific Job Function:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
  • Work with leadership to create budgets and forecast. Track and report on budgets to actuals.
  • Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Ensure inventory is accurately tracked across all dealerships. Establish cost accounting best practices to track COGS.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with portion being in a supervisory role
  • Thorough Knowledge of U.S GAAP
  • Decision making skills along with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Performance management and employee relationship building skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with other financial systems
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in fast-paced environments is a plus
