The Senior Buyer is responsible for the management and coordination of all buying/sourcing activities. This individual works closely with S&OP, Application, Manufacturing, Design and Project teams to review, analyze and execute material plan in support of project requirements, as well as meet Culligan’s KPI’s/Metrics.
Specific Job Function:
Responsible for all purchasing and sourcing activities for multiple product lines/plants.
Review purchase req’s/convert to PO’s
Negotiate and manage supplier pricing
Plan, schedule and monitor assigned materials with S&OP team using MRP (SAP S4HANA).
Communicate and resolve any quality issues or rejects with supplier and internal stakeholders
NCR, Return to Supplier
Work with supplier to define root-cause and corrective action
Ability to work with R&D/Product Management to facilitate supply chain scope and feasibility for new products in the development pipeline with suppliers early in the process.
Ability to develop RFP’s for scope of supply, which includes product specifications, capacity, quality and distribution requirements.
Interview and establish relationships with suppliers to source, finished goods, services, raw materials, components, and off shelf items based on price, quality, and delivery time.
Measure and improve suppliers’ performance to their contractual commitments (Supplier Scorecard).
Work on procurement projects as required by NA Purchasing Manager.
Five or more years of related experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain – SAP preferred (not required)
Bachelors’ Degree; Masters of Business or Engineering a plus
Ability to work with little supervision and professionally interact directly with all levels of Engineers, Project Managers and Manufacturing, Accounting, Customer Service, and Quality Assurance
Knows expected industry lead times for parts and materials, and how to locate and qualify new sources.
Demonstrated ability to create the supplier relationships and contracts required to support and grow a dynamic business.
Proven capability in all Microsoft applications, with mid-level Excel skills.
