Job Summary

Crown Bakeries is looking for a Payroll/HR Specialist to join our team. The Payroll/HR Specialist will be responsible for performing various HR support duties for HR Leadership. The Payroll/HR Specialist is a dual role involving the full spectrum of payroll and human resources responsibilities. The Payroll/HR Specialist performs a variety of administrative tasks and processes payroll in support of human resources. The role uses attention to detail in every matter, enjoys interacting and serving employees and operates with complete discretion and confidentiality. This role also supports company policies and procedures to support operations in conjunction with Crown's mission, vision, and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll and any applicable updates/calculations including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Reviews and suggests payroll/HR best practices to improve efficiency and consult with team to improve processes.
  • Assists with all aspects of HR to include payroll, recruitment, retention, audits, and benefits administration.
  • Responds to general HR inquiries from employees and escalates inquiries as appropriate.
  • Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and HR requirements. Assists to maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data and reviewing source documents for accuracy and completion of data input.
  • Works collaboratively with HR team in the administration of policies, procedures, and communications
  • Provides excellent customer service to employees and partners.
  • Maintain employee lists/census.
  • Perform other clerical duties such as reporting, filing, photocopying, etc.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • HR or Payroll certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or CPP) strongly preferred and will be supported if not already obtained.
  • 2+ years of full cycle payroll experience including but not limited to: payroll taxes, W-2, ACA as well as other year end processing.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus (verbal & written).
  • Emerging analytical skills with a proactive, problem-solving can-do/will-do attitude.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment. A motivated independent thinker who has a passion for the mission of Crown Bakeries. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Possess strong organization skills, attention to detail, ability to complete multiple tasks, prioritizing according to need.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Has demonstrated ability to respond quickly and accurately to requests for data, ability to provide excellent customer service required.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll/HR related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


This role operates in an office environment but may visit production plants and shipping areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, cell phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
