Job Description

CrossBoundary is recruiting an Analyst to join our Corporate Development team in Washington DC or London.

Our team is responsible for (1) special strategic projects such as the design of blended capital mechanisms and investment facilitation platforms, (2) development of new business for the firm’s investment advisory practice through engagement with investors, donors, and other relevant stakeholders, and (3) provision of transaction advisory services globally. As a member of the Washington DC or London offices, you will work closely with firm leadership on engagements and initiatives that are of strategic importance to CrossBoundary’s growth – for example our natural capital practice, where we are unlocking capital for nature-based solutions with climate and biodiversity impact. In addition to building partnerships and developing concepts to mobilize capital with DC-based organizations such as USAID, the World Bank, and MCC, team members will have the opportunity to support our work globally.

CrossBoundary is an investment firm. Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience working in high-caliber finance or consulting organizations and an interest in having an impact in underserved markets. Experience and background in developing countries will be regarded favorably.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Transaction support of investment advisory engagements

  • Perform various analyses under tight deadlines which require technical and qualitative skills, including proficiency in MS Excel for modeling, MS Word, and PowerPoint
  • Conduct markets research and assessments

Partnership sourcing and new business support

  • Monitor partner platforms and identify new business opportunities
  • Support DC and CrossBoundary leadership on developing new business opportunities

Knowledge and Data Management

  • Support CrossBoundary leadership on the execution of firm-wide initiatives
  • Liaise with external partners on communication and marketing of investment facilitation engagements
  • Operational support of CrossBoundary’s Washington DC office
  • Serve as a liaison between the Washington DC team and other CrossBoundary offices on operational matters


The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in top tier banking, consulting, private equity, or similar for the analyst and 3 - 5 years of experience for an Associate
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues
  • Excellent quantitative skills; ability to apply analytical rigor to complex and uncertain tasks
  • Knowledge of corporate finance and familiarity with company evaluation and valuation techniques
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in stressful environments
  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to operate effectively in a changing context
  • Experience working in developing countries will be regarded favorably
