The Fleet and Equipment Quality Manager is responsible for assisting in the administration and supervision of a comprehensive fleet business system encompassing every aspect of preventive maintenance, managing vehicle breakdowns, equipment procurement, record keeping, and reporting for the entire fleet. Additionally, this role will be responsible to assist in developing specifications for standard and specialized vehicles, as well as the oversight of construction equipment, trailers, emergency generators, testing equipment, and all tools associated with performing Crompco's field services.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and implement scheduling of all established maintenance and repair procedures for company-owned vehicles and apply an effective reporting system to assure that services are provided properly and timely.

• Support Field Technicians in resolving vehicle issues

• Schedule and inspect work to be performed and completed by mechanics and by third-party vendors using the Merchant Fleet maintenance and management system

• Create work procedures for maintenance activities when necessary.

• Define scope of work, obtain quotes and arrange for contract services when necessary.

• Work with operations to assess vehicle and equipment needs and coordinate the purchase of new trucks.

• Initiate purchase of tools, materials, supplies, and parts.

• Support and continuous management of the purchasing and repair of testing equipment.

• Managing vehicle licensure, registration, and insurance. • Issue and monitor fuel cards and EZPass Transponders

• Recommend and forecast equipment replacement based upon life-cycle analysis criteria including age, condition, value, cost, and maintenance history.

• Use reporting and other methods to monitor all activity to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including issues related to safety and vehicle management and control.

• Follows warranty and recall information for equipment repairs

• Enforces company policies for vehicle/equipment including a maintenance schedule to assist in budgeting for the cost of repairs and replacement.

• Assures all Test Equipment is certified per manufacturer and regulatory agency guidelines

• Submits proposals for expenditures on capital expenses

• Provide cost-saving initiatives based on measurable data inside of fleet management program

• Adherence to all required DOT regulations

• Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree a plus

• 2 years in a fleet maintenance (or like) role • Comprehensive knowledge of auto-mechanics

• At least two years of vendor/supplier management, product, sales, or sales support experience

• Proven Leadership experience

• Able to succeed working in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable with executive-briefing

• Experience using Merchants Fleet Service or similar system

• Ability to respond effectively to change • High level of organization skills with multitasking capabilities

• Combination of documented experience and skills

• Dedicated team player willing to take on new challenges and assignments

• Familiar with and experience with Microsoft Office Applications

• Strong computer skills with the ability to train and use third-party ERP and CRM software packages (Salesforce, Great Plains, etc.) a plus
