Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician in Gaithersburg/Rockville, MD - $28/hr 

Specifics:

• This position will report to the Lead Engineer
• Will help cover 4 different buildings in Gaithersburg and Rockville
• Start Date: August 1st, 2021
  

Performs a variety of skilled and semiskilled trades to support mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning machinery as well as other tasks such as plumbing, doors and locks, floor systems, roof systems, and structural components. Works with a variety of skilled craft personnel with backgrounds in buildings operations and maintenance.  The person in this position takes direction from engineers and chief engineers. This position reports to the Project Manager.

DUTIES:

• Performs quality maintenance support of the facility, utilities, and equipment in support of the assigned building(s)
• Performs all tasks in compliance with company policies in a safe manner.
• Repairs, maintains, and installs machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, manuals, and manufacturers' specifications. Includes, but not limited to, pumps, fans, motors, valves, piping, controls, dampers, etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance as directed by engineers and Chief Engineer.
• Answers trouble calls throughout the facility
• Maintains tools, equipment, and supplies to maintain an orderly work area.
• Trains new and less experienced maintenance workers.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of experience working in building operation and maintenance
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Experience operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, installing and repairing equipment.
• Must be team oriented
• Good communication skills, must communicate effectively in English
• Must be able to obtain a government clearance
• Must meet the requirements of the occupation such as lifting 50 lbs., walking distances, kneeling for 1 hour, and climbing 30 ft. ladders.
