Job Description
*Generous Sign-on Bonus!* Critter Care Veterinary Services, located 1 hour southwest of the Chicago metropolitan area, is searching for a Medical Director/Managing DVM to partner with leadership to accomplish our goal of nurturing the human-animal bond. Our goal is to practice the highest quality of medicine while nurturing the human-animal bond through progressive and thoughtful medical care for our patients, and client education. We strive to work within client constraints and focus on providing exceptional, empathetic customer service. Currently our hospital uses the following services to practice compassionate care: Radiology Ultrasound In-house and referral diagnostics Dentistry Wellness and preventative care Acupuncture Laser therapy Chiropractic care Senior pet wellness The Medical Director/Managing DVM is responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered. In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the MD/MDVM is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital, preparing operating and capital budgets, and meeting budget expectations. The Hospital Manager and the MD/MDVM will partner to take on the responsibilities of directing staff and managing the practice under the direction of NVA Divisional Leadership. Additional Responsibilities Include: Advancing medical care Leading staff and practice Financial responsibilities Growing the practice Skills and Qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed 4+ years of experience working as a licensed veterinarian Previous experience in a lead/supervisory role - preferred Special interest in advanced surgery, holistic medicine, and/or orthopedics - preferred Some equine or exotics experience - preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills through charting and client interactions Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics Ability to motivate staff, delegate responsibility, and achieve results with hospital team members Capable of quality decision making Coaches, corrects, develops, and motivates Associate DVMs Demonstrates excellent time and task management Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to- date w/assistance from Lead Tech Stays current on new medical information and changes to veterinary medicine Benefits & More: Competitive Salary 401(K) Health, Dental, Vision Paid dues/fees for two professional memberships of your choice Vacation Continuing Education Paid State License and DEA Covered 100% liability insurance Generous Sign-On Bonus!
