Logistics Manager - Phoenix, AZ Area

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Regional Logistics Manager will be responsible for driving the optimization of shipping and freight activities within North America and exports to other global regions; freight cost transparency; compliance to contracted routings, global policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop & implement logistics networks for new customers and/or the evolving manufacturing footprint within the region.
  • Optimization of regional and inter-regional material flows.
  • Develop regional strategies to secure the required space capacity for all modes related to customer pick-up & routed orders.
  • Warehouse Network Optimization.
  • Centralized hub/spoke networks within U.S.
  • Warehouse footprint rationalization/consolidations with consideration of utilizing 3PL outsourced warehouses.
  • Develop Regional Logistics Annual Operating Plan (AOP) cost reductions roadmap in support of Global Logistics AOP.
  • Audit adherence to contracted routings utilizing freight payment data & proactively identify lanes not under contract & competitively bid.
  • Provide support to site Shipping Leaders & collaborate with site Finance Teams on managing freight budgets.
  • Support SAP implementation blueprinting process in the region.
  • Expand utilization of digital freight marketplaces.
  • Implement lean warehouse concept at U.S sites.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
  • 10+ years of experience in global logistics; 5+ years experience managing a multiple distribution center network.
  • In depth knowledge of end-to-end global material flows.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing logistics cost reduction initiatives.
  • Experience working in an organization with a global footprint and a matrix organization.
  • SAP S4 Hana ERP, Advanced Excel, Power Point, Data Base Analytics software skills experience.
  • Building and retaining logistics provider relationships.
  • Relationship building at the local, corporate and international levels.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
  • High Tech/Electronics Industry.
  • Import and Export trade compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement or Lean Methodologies.
