Job Description

We are a nonprofit, fully accredited, regional healthcare center offering advanced medical services, including heart and vascular, cancer, orthopedic services, women's services, and a level III trauma center. With nearly 100 physicians representing 30 medical specialties, our team serves neonatal, pediatric, adult, obstetric, and geriatric populations throughout west Nebraska, northern Kansas, and northern Colorado.

We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), Oncology in the North Platte area. This position with the Cancer Center is to assist the physicians with patient care and fulfill the need as Physician Extenders performing selective medical services under the supervision of the Physicians.

Position Details
•Start Date: ASAP
•Schedule: Full time, Salaried Position, Varied Shifts Available
•EMR: Epic
•A typical workday begins and ends helping physicians to see patients. PAs will see patients individually with Physician supervision.
•Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
•Reviews patient records, interpreting and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
•Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Establishes presumptive diagnosis.
•Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures. Orders appropriate medications, including but not limited to: chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, IV medication, IM/SQ medication, supportive care medication.
•Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention; instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
•Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
•Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
•Provides call coverage with Physician.

Required Qualifications
•Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Nebraska
•MUST have a master's degree
•Prescriptive authority in Nebraska and DEA Certification
•One year experience in hospital or clinic setting preferred

•Salary Negotiable, DOE – Starting at $106,000/year for New Grads
