Job Description

Our client in Baltimore County, MD is a well-known privately-held company that is looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst! This individual will report directly to the Director of FP&A and also work closely with the VP of Finance and CFO too! This position is responsible for supporting internal departments as it relates to analyzing financial performance, building and analyzing budgets (operational and capital), producing consolidated reports to assist management in strategic decision making, and preparing and analyzing pro forma statements, financial projections, and profitability analysis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Analysis
    1. Assist FP&A Manager with reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual results
    2. Ensure on-time distribution of monthly financial reporting package and variance analysis
    3. Design, develop, and maintain dynamic financial reporting tools to increase accuracy and improve efficiency
    4. Coordinate and document processes for internal financial reporting systems
    5. Cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses
    6. Prepare financial presentations in Excel and PowerPoint
    7. Work directly with CFO, Controller, and FP&A Manager
  2. Strategic Planning
    1. Drive the annual budgeting process
    2. Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting updates
    3. Develop and track analysis to identify, evaluate, and quantify risks and opportunities across all of business units
    4. Develop benchmarking analyses and reports to assist in strategy development
    5. Conduct special financial and business related studies
  3. Project Management & Team Lead
    1. Coordinate monthly team calendar and cross-functional processes for month-end close
    2. Assist designing and driving corporate-wide initiatives
    3. Work with FP&A Manager to oversee pipeline of projects and prioritize analysis
    4. Train and mentor Staff Analysts and Interns
    5. Provide quality control for analysis provided to other departments

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business/related field required
  • 3+ years relevant FP&A experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced user of MS Excel
  • Experience with accounting systems, databases, and reporting tools
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment and interacting with multiple departments
  • Critical thinker open to learning new ideas/skills; flexible and excited by a challenge
  • Demonstrated high level of strategic thinking and business acumen
