Job Description
Who We Are:
AcuityMD uses data and software to help teams collaborate around the complex relationships they have with the users of medical technologies: doctors. Our platform empowers medical technology companies to see how their products are used, understand why outcomes vary, and identify opportunities where physicians or sites of care can better serve their patients.
We are builders, who are inspired by our mission to expand patient access to cutting edge medical technologies. We value working collaboratively to solve hard problems for our customers with simple, innovative solutions. We push ourselves to learn with empathy. We foster an active culture of mentorship and inclusion, and we welcome new team members that share our values.
We're backed by Benchmark, Ajax Health, and several other leading software and medical device investors. Since Acuity launched in 2020, the platform is already being used by several publicly-traded enterprises, innovative growth-stage companies, and regional medical device distributors.
What You Will Be Doing:
AcuityMD is the first software and data platform designed to commercialize medical technologies and expand patient access to cutting edge products. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help us continue developing our product with strong technical fundamentals.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you lead major decisions around architecture, how the product is built, and how the team works. You will own full lifecycle software development alongside a team of experienced and junior engineers. You'll architect and build services that answer questions like:
- How do we design a system to orchestrate data ingestion and machine learning across 50+ datasets?
- How do we serve analytical data to users in an easy-to-use SaaS application?
- How do we build fully-fledged CRM functionality into a mobile app?
- How do we build an API to integrate with our customers' systems of record?
- How can we build an infrastructure that optimizes for development speed and product learning?
As an early member of the team, you will build the critical infrastructure that will change the way people work in the medical technology industry for many years to come.
Our software engineering team is collaborative, customer-focused, resourceful, and forward thinking. Our technology spans the web, mobile, API, big data, machine learning, and search. We're looking for people who are excited to make their mark and build something special.
Responsibilities:
- Scope and lead technical projects end-to-end: Design, prototype, iterate, and ship major features across data warehouse, data orchestration, backend, and frontend
- Ensure sound product development: Ensure product development is progressing by finding and fixing inefficiencies in the appropriate layer of the system
- Help build the software roadmap: Work closely with the executive team to develop the software roadmap for future features and improvements
- Design and implement new infrastructure: Architect new services and capabilities to serve our product and enable our team
- Work collaboratively: Work closely with customers, sales, product, design, and other software engineers in product requirements to ensure we're building the right thing
- Help scale our product and team: You'll be an integral part of how we mature our tooling, best practices, engineering processes, and hiring
Qualifications:
- You have been a manager or tech lead before, but want to keep building and writing code
- You enjoy solving hard analytical problems with well-designed backend systems, and you also have an appreciation for the importance of frontend
- You love building and shipping magical products that change the way people work. You care about the real world impact of your code
- You are an expert working with different web tech stacks: libraries, frameworks, testing, etc.
- You have experience with Go or Javascript/Typescript
- You have a BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science or a related field
- You have 7+ years of work experience
- You must have an eligible work permit in the USA to be considered for this position
Nice to Have Skills:
