The Installation Engineer is responsible for the integration of new and retrofitted industrial automation and robotic projects. This position will support the design and development of a variety of automation projects throughout the platform then lead their implementation. The person who fills this position will collaborate with plant personnel and maintenance personnel while directing the launch activities with our suppliers and integrators.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:Contribute to automation concepts and design as neededLayout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify automated production equipmentMaintain, modify, and enhance PLC and HMI programsOptimize motion control via programming to improve robotic functionsCoordinate individual project schedules and routinely report progressDevelop test plans and execute testing with operations and maintenance teamsCoordinate with IT, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety to ensure successful implementationCoordinate multiple projects and installationsIdentify deficiencies in current automation (upstream and downstream processes)Develop and maintain clear and accurate automation, equipment or processes documentation, technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guidesWork with maintenance department to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance complianceAdvise maintenance and support personnel on new technologyTrain operators and supervisors during and after system implementation
Skills Required:Thorough understanding of electro-mechanical systems and an ability to diagnose and eliminate in-efficienciesSafety conscious and experienced at LOTOTO, machine guarding and other safety practicesProficient computer skills in Excel/WordExperience in the installation of automated equipmentKnowledge and experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical architecturePLC and HMI experienceMechanically inclined, strong problem solving skills, hands-on individualExcellent communication skillsWorks well in team environment
Skills Preferred:BS in ME, EE, Automation, or Related Field or equivalent experienceExperience with Allen-Bradley and Fanuc systemsMachine shop and welding knowledgeKnowledge of ergonomic principlesFamiliar with 6-Axis robot programmingFamiliar with machine vision principles
